Crypto Fear & Greed Index

Is the crypto market fearful or greedy? An index from 0 (extreme fear) to 100 (extreme greed) — useful context for SOL decisions too, since Solana often moves in the same direction as overall market sentiment.

How to use this index? Warren Buffett said: "Be greedy when others are fearful." Extreme fear (0–24) has historically been a good buying opportunity, while extreme greed (75–100) often signals a market top. The index doesn't guarantee future direction — use it as one signal, not the only one.

Why did the network outages happen? In its early development, Solana experienced several network congestion incidents, most often caused by bots sending overwhelming volumes of transactions (for example, during popular NFT mints). The team has since implemented the QUIC protocol, local fee markets, and other mechanisms that have significantly improved network stability.

Golden rules for Solana users: Never share your seed phrase (12-24 words) — no legitimate support team will ever ask for it. Be especially cautious with "limited time" NFT mints and fake Discord/Telegram links that ask you to "connect wallet" and then drain your funds via malicious approvals. Check that a token's contract is verified on Solscan before buying, and avoid "too good to be true" airdrops that ask you to send SOL first or sign suspicious transactions.
